What Drives Us

Join Laura, Dirk, and Boomer, as we embark on this adventure, sharing our warmth and hospitality with the diverse people we meet across the United States. Follow along as we embrace new environments and master the art of hosting on the move.

Fun fact: Hospitality Power Couple was the name we were given by our friends for the many social gatherings we have hosted over the years. We love bringing people together!

Meet Laura & Dirk

It is 1996, Laura is born in the developing city of Nanning, China, and Dirk, in the quiet suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. While born a world apart, we lived our lives unknowingly close, separated by mere minutes in the Chicago suburbs during our childhood. Fast forward to 2017, amidst the bustling halls of DePaul University, our worlds collided.

A year after our graduation, Dirk proposed, and in a whirlwind romance, we were married in September 2019. From corporate warriors to daring entrepreneurs, we honed our skills and took multiple leaps of faith. Now, with hearts full of adventure and a drive to share our journey, we are hitting the road, taking our businesses and family across America.

A wedding ceremony is taking place in a church. The bride and groom stand at the altar before a person officiating the ceremony. Bridesmaids in red dresses and groomsmen in dark suits stand on either side. The church features stained glass windows and ornate decorations.

Faith

Our Catholic faith is the compass that guides us on this incredible journey. As we migrate across the country, we will visit churches along the way, offering our time and support to those in need, wherever we travel. Our faith is not just a part of us; it is the foundation of our adventure.

We love decorating our front door especially for Christmas as it’s a great way to welcome guests and it’s our favorite holiday!

Family

We won’t go anywhere our little family can’t travel—four paws included. Our home is wherever all three of us are together. With Boomer by our side, every destination becomes a new adventure, and every journey is filled with love.

Friends

We’re excited to keep in touch with you while forming new friendships along our journey. We'll explore creative ways to be hosts on the road, even without a traditional home. Every place we visit is an opportunity to experience new cultures, learn new ways to live, and share memorable experiences.
