Boys' Day in at the Omni

📍 Written from: Fort Worth, TX USA

When Mom’s away the boys shall play. While Laura was attending the Sent conference in Fort Worth - Dallas, Boomer and I stayed with her at the Omni. During the day Laura would go out to seminars and group events leaving Boomer and I to our own devices. We weren’t about to just stay cooped up in the room though, so we decided to have some fun.

Conveniently next to the Omni and the convention center are the Water Gardens. Boomer and I had a blast exploring this unique park with 3 distinct pools, Active (pictured above), Quiet, and Aerating, and a grassy area to hang out too. The most fun and interesting thing about this park is how many levels of verticality exist within it. We constantly found ourselves going up and down, sometimes stepping, sometimes climbing to get to the next area. Also, not only was this park dog friendly, it was completely free to visit! We could have spent all day here, but we were starting to get hungry, so it was time to go back to the hotel for a snack.

When we got back to the hotel Boomer was quick to make some new friends and it did not take long until everyone knew him. This is where Boomer and I are complete opposites. This dog loves the famous life. Everyone he met would give him compliments, pets, and best of all treats, even without asking for a trick first! He could quickly get used to hanging out in the lobby all day working the front desk and greeting guests, but my social battery was quickly draining and my stomach was starting to rumble. That’s okay though because food was about to arrive!

While Laura was out eating steak and fine food, Boomer and I decided to enjoy a Dominos Pizza and Salad in the lobby. We ordered Dominoes because not only did we want pizza, but we learned that Tom Monaghan, the original owner of Dominos, was also staying here at the Omni! What a cool coincidence if he were to notice Boomer and I here eating his pizza right? Unfortunately he was nowhere to be seen this evening, however that didn’t stop us from enjoying dinner and getting a little work done too.
